Hi there,
How's things?
Recently, I've been thinking about self worth, and where we get it from.
How do we live?
Where do you get your worth from?
Do we get it through others and encouragement or discouragement, do we like seeing people successful or not?
How do we communicate to others?
It's sad to think that we are programed to buzz around in our heads full of things, that can be harmful to how we live.
Do we hold onto unrealistic expectations on our kids and on ourselves, on where or what we should do.
''If you're good you get this, if you study hard, and become dux you will get this Audi.'' there's no problem with rewards, but if we hold rewards above peoples heads, what is that doing to our kids and our generation?
I'm not saying hold back all rewards, but reward when someone is successful in small things, than saying unrealistically ''I want you to get this.''
Being realistic, is hard, because we live in such a instant generation, because we think we earn it.
Self worth, is something that comes with time, and it also comes with healing.
If you've been constantly put down, or sensitive to comments, about yourself that you've heard, you can become rejected.
That is what the enemy is wanting, if you're thinking about what you should be doing, and sick of throwing pennies in the well, pray.
Because when we pray, we can talk to God, and always know that he is there, in that rejection, in those times when you think that you're not right, or that you're doing something wrong, my friend if that is you, if you're always thinking about what you're doing or if you're continually wrong.
God is there, God is there when all around you turns to custard.
We were made to get on with people, but sometimes, you can't get on with people, and that's OK, because it takes all different tiles to make a mosaic.
And what are they made out of?
Broken tiles.
And out of your brokenness, no matter if someone is holding something unachievable over you, talk to them, because they need to know.
God is big enough to care for, don't discount that, because it's so easy to treat God like how we treat others, or how others treat ourselves.
God's ways are not our ways.
If you're struggling with that, you can talk to a Christian councillor, and talk about it, because self worth does effect us.
And it will set you free when you get help.
That is me for today,
Chloe
