Hi there,
How's things going?
How are you going with the challenge of being honest with yourself?
How are you going with your work?
Lately I've been thinking about love, and what it really takes to love your enemy?
What happens when you get shut down every day by your enemy?
What if your ''enemy" is always accusing of things you are purely capable but words from your enemy shut you down, it slowly wears you out.
Like a broken piece piece of glass that is left on the beach, once was sharp, now worn down and less shinny.
The sharpness rubbed, off, perhaps you once were sharp, but life has worn you down, and you wonder if you can shine out again.
If you think of a mirror, what does it reflect?
It doesn't reflect the chair, in the back ground, it reflects you, and you are a master piece.
In this world, as you grow older my friends, people will hurt you, and we know we have enemies, we know that we have our worse enemy that is Satan, and Satan, is looking for a weakness and he will use any agent he can find to make us as Christians weak, sometimes wearing us out to something that once once sharp, now worn out.
What happens if we are just worn out?
What happens if we get around in the wrong crowds?
What happens if you just can't get back up, and you're wondering what life is all about?
You can take Godly advice, you can take what comes your way, but sometimes we need to find things for ourselves.
What happens if people can't take kindness?
Well it's just you being kind, it's them that can't take it.
It's not a fault, it's actually, a good thing that you care.
I care about the little things, the stresses of cooking, but to know you have done, a nice job, presenting food nicely, and it tastes good. not about the bad words spoken to me every day.
God calls us to put others first, and by putting others first, we will show love to the ones that can't accept it.
The ones, that slowly, grate away, all the goodness, the ones that are always in your space, and the ones who don't help you, when you help them.
It might be that some how they are working out plans to have you not have a job.
You know?
Ester, who knew about Haman's plan, spoke up, and she knew that she was made for a time to speak up.
As Chirstians, if we are getting constantly hated, we can speak up, if we hear things that are about us, we can talk, to them.
We can face it head on.
But in love, because who are we helping?
If you look at it, we are helping our enemies by reaching out to them.
By doing this and not going, "I told you so'' and accusing them on things that they accuse us on, we are showing kind love.
Enemies look for a way to make us feel guilty, but with Christ, he makes us be with out blame.
Do you notice the opposite?
We are reaching out with love, to them.
We are also on a journey, and our journey isn't finished until we have finished the race marked out for us.
God doesn't prolong pain, he doesn't make our race that much further, just to get a kick out of it. When we are over come by love, we are, loved by God.
Well I have a friend here, so must dash.

Getting it all out
Hi there.
How's things?
No really how are things going?
It's so easy to say, "Good." or "yeah ok."
How honest are we with ourselves?
If we aren't feeling so good, we hide, we pretend that we are ok.
In this day in age, we have things to protect us, like using our time of the net, hiding that, or in food.
Or addictions, or emotions, or perhaps you've been so worn out, down, that joy is just a passing thing, a distant vapor.
What ever your hiding behind, perhaps it's that scary person at work, or that church doesn't really do it for you anymore.
Perhaps, you've had a sad event recently, one where the only person who was there for you is no longer.
Jesus, loves you just the way you are.
Sometimes you can only cry yourself to sleep, and perhaps you don't even know your crying.
Jesus, is there for you.
And when others have ripped out, what little hope there was, no matter how much you've cared for that spark, to stay, and others have come and blown it out.
Remember, it's not completely gone, God has protected you, and that little spark is still in you, burning away.
God is always there.
God is all loving, when perhaps you haven't had any one love you for a long time, or treated you well, God always treats people with human kindness.
With God, on your side, you don't need to be afraid, of things, you don't have to be wary, of people.
Because God is fighting for you, and he is your guardian, and he's got you covered.
Even if you think other people are out there, and not happy with you, God is.
Jesus is there, and he'll give you a way out, when there doesn't seem to be a way.
Perhaps you can't get up, perhaps you're in that broken place, and you don't have the strength, to get back up again.
That's ok, just do your best, watch for signs, that you're not coping.
And talk to someone, because you can't go on if you're not coping.
And you don't have to get on with everyone, it's perfectly ok, to not be ok.
Don't hide, or try to do better, when things aren't going well for you.
You can't fix things in other people, and sometimes we can't fix what's going on inside of us, but we need to stop hiding, we need God, we need good families, and I thank my family for being there, and pulling me up when i've been feeling like my back is against the wall, and a way out.
Perhaps we need to look for friends, who are helping us, out of situations.
Take people's opportunities to pray, or help or just be taken out and enjoying some fun with people.
Because it's so easy to be all wrapped up and forget to have that fun, often that's the first thing to go when you are depressed.
So yes it probably hasn't been light hearted read, but hopefully been helpful.
Take care

you are an overcomer
Hi there.
It's hard to know what to write today.
But please bare with me.
Today I want to tell you that you are an over comer.
No matter if you're faith is shaken, no matter if someone is out there to go get you.
They can't get at your faith that you have inside.
And if you think you're broken, that someone has broken you, and ripped everything away.
And you don't know if you can trust someone again, you can trust in God my friend.
I'm not saying that everyone won't be there, but listen to this.
In this life, we will get shaken, we will get pressured, we will be abused, we have unspeakable hurt.
What do we do with those secrets?
Perhaps you're wondering if you're ever going to be free from what's inside your head.
My friend, I write this with tears, because I want to give you hope, that those voices inside your head, are only voices, and while when you close your eyes, and ears, it seems like they are getting louder.
One thing I want to give you, and it's what made my day, when I had a really hard day.
As at the end of the day, you care, you are better than the person that you're getting under fire.
you might burnt, you might hear things that you should, you might have things done to do you that you've heard, you might feel like you're always to the rescue, to others, but not yourself.
My friend, God sees, and other sees it to, and there shouldn't be any reason why you should speak out.
If you are upset if your'e work ethic, is failing, if you're getting depressed, over it. It's time to get some medical, help for yourself.
Don't try and fix it with ignoring it, or pretending it isn't there.
If you're feeling, like you can't bothered, if all the things have come against the odds, and you're left picking up the pieces.
The calm in the storm is acuttaly in the middle of it.
Don't keep score, and think of the people who actually value, your help and your friendship, if you're getting under fire, it's pretty shallow, I know at the time it stings, but it's the persons problem and not yours.
At the end of the day they have to live with themselves.
You can over come things, things that are hard to climb, things that seem to too hard for you, you can go through them with Christ my friend.
He carried you to the cross, he gave you free life and life enternal on this side of the planet.
When this planet dissolves, what will be left?
Heaven, no pain, or shame, and no pointing finger, and no told you sos.
You will be, alright, think of the people that care about you.
You're one in a million, God hasn't made a mistake, when he made you, even though it might feel like it at times.
You go out there, and fly a kite, and think that this is just a bump in the road, soon you'll be traveling on and out of the problem.

Braving the Elements
Hi there,
I hope that you're well, and coughed out the last of the winter flu's.
Today I want to talk to you about braving the elements.
Because of the weather, we've been having, it's Aneno weather, that means that we're going to have a dry spring and a wet summer people.
And I'm not related to Jim Hickey, I have it on good authority from my geologist.
So what is braving the elements?
And are we cooking with gas?
Saying that we do have a new gas hob at home, and oh my goodness it's the best thing since Tiggy's dental examination, that was the other day.
Go out and support the good Dunedin design folks at Fisher and Paykel.
Nope today, we are talking about storms.
And I went out for a run yesterday in one, and it was good, got soaked by the rain, then a big clap of thunder came and I ran to my car, I didn't get very far, 8 miters, but it's a start.
Nope, today I'm going to talk about being strong.
Let's turn to Exodus chapter 8 to 11.
I'm sure you know the story, its about Moses, and the plagues.
He was braving the elements, in fact, he at first ran away, to Midian, because he kills someone who wasn't an Israelite.
However before that, we read that Pharaoh the good Pharaoh, died, the one that let Joesph into the country, and let him be governor over the land because he interrupted his dream.
There was good in Egypt, in those days.
But now all the goodness has died, and a new Pharaoh reigned.
This one, was ruthless, because he knew how good the Israelites were, they were strong, dedicated to the cause, and had children fast, and therefore multiplied rapidly.
Moses was the only young child left in Egypt, because his mother saw that he was special, now we use the word ''special'' now days because we label people, ''special'' i.e. different, but this mother saw that he really was something.
So she did something rather risky, she put him in a basket, lined with tar, and said good bye to him on the Nile.
This mother had faith, the water can be dangerous for a little basket, and she had faith where Moses ended up was his call on his life.
Miriam had a part to play too, because we read that Egyptians didn't like Israelites, and to go near one, especially some one who is a princess.
Well Miriam saw where Moses ended up, and went and got help, in fact, got her own mother.
And the Princess paid her to look after her own son, then she was to hand him over for Moses to grow up in the palace.
It seems such a lovely story, here was a baby the only one left of his kind, in the country, but it was probably bitter sweet, because some of the mothers had children die by the Egyptian army.
I'm sure that Moses mother thought of that too.
We read that Moses grew up, and it wasn't until he was out of Egypt, that he had a plan for his life, that was to go back and take the Israelites to the promise land, a land that flowed with Milk and honey, a land with no more hardship.
And the Israelites had faith in God that one day, they would leave Egypt.
It wasn't all plain sailing, it was often a hard road to walk, because each day God instructed Moses, to go and tell Pharaoh, to let his people go, if he didn't God sent plagues.
In the end it costed Pharaoh a high price, in fact one of his own kind to die, before he let his people go.
But it wasn't without a cost, because Pharaoh, came after them when they were crossing the Nile.
Moses braved the elements, he went and didn't give up, nor did any harm come to the Israelites when Egypt was harmed by the plagues.
What can we learn about Moses?
Well he didn't give up, he rarely complained, until later.
2. The Israelites cried out to God, they knew that one day their deliverer was coming.
3. Moses, prayed on behalf of Pharaoh to God.
4. Moses didn't go or do everything alone, he had his family, around and helped him, see Aaron.
5. Moses, didn't harden his heart, he didn't say ''after all that I've done for you'' type attitude.
6. You have to be brave and do what the Lord has called you to do.
The Lord made Moses to stand out, from all the rest, Miriam wanted to see him safe when he was a baby, Moses mother believed in God, and when you believe in God, he come through for you.
Even if it's putting everything on the line so to speak.
Moses went after God with all he had, and what was that?
A stick, his only staff, he didn't take anything extra, he went believing in God.
Some times things get hard, sometimes, you have prayers that you can't speak, sometimes you work so hard to fix everything, sometimes you might just have a stick a staff.
That's all that you might have, God sees your staff my friend, and with him on your side, you won't just have enough to get by, you will have more, you'll be so surprised on what little you have, he'll give you more than enough.
No matter what the world says you have to have, or you have to have it now.
God is your staff.
Well that's all I want to say.

Caring for the little things
Hi there.
How's things?
Sometimes, it feels like I'm blogging about the same things ,over and over again.
And perhaps I am.
However, I'm not going to apologise.
If you're feeling like you can't be loved, or that you feel so overwhelmed by things, that you woke up this morning wide eyed wondering how you're going to get through today, you will.
Sometimes it feels like you've got wave after wave of cold shock, perhaps you don't understand, perhaps you're having a hard time believing in things, even believing in God.
You might have heard the saying, ''God is all you need.'' and that's true, but how can we understand when there's so much around us?
You and I are different, perhaps that you work, and sometimes you have people who for some reason can't work.
Sometimes we have friends, and sometimes we loose friends, sometimes our friends take advantage of us, and sometimes we can't get the help we need.
There's always those things.
When I woke up yesterday I felt slightly overwhelmed, I had to try my best, and sort of failed, but I did try, the thing of it was, that, my car was unregistered, and I got a $200 fine, then I had to drop my best furry friend, into the vet, to get a mouth operation done, and then I had to go back, and sort out my car.
Only to be in contact with a bank person, who didn't really help that much, you know how you get these people, and you just seize up, before you get the help you need?
Well this person was just like that, you could see that she was going to make it quite differ cult for me to understand, it was just a simple mistake, but she was so rude that it was made out to be this big thing.
I went home gathered my thoughts and tried again, only to have success this time.
I paid the back log and all got sorted out, and the DCC is looking into the case of the traffic ticket, and my cat came through his operation and is resting up on his day bed on the sofa, with his head on a cushion, and a red mohair rug over him to keep him warm, positively human like.
So God came through for me, and once again, what seemed like an overwhelming day, wasn't.
In fact it ended on a good note, and all got sorted out.
It's in those moments, when you hand those things over to God, you actually see him.
He knew that I had my car rego expired, he knew that things were going to be OK, for my cat at the vet, he knew that there is a good chance of me coming off that fine, and he also knows that I need money, so I got called up to work in the weekend.
It's in those ''what if'' situations that you actually see God for what he is, what he's doing in your life, and if those things seem like mountains, and that you've got to climb them, he'll be there right behind you, in front of you, digging foot holes for you to climb them.
What I've learnt is, God never leaves us to defend for ourselves, when he tells us to do something, he doesn't to it and walks away, and leave us for our own devices.
Yesterday I put myself to the test with my car, I wanted to see if i could pay the back log and get it sorted out, and I did, then my parents fixed up the fiddly bits, like renewing it, so I had to pay for the rego, then I had to pay for renewing it.
I've also though about it, if we're not prepared to step out, and trust God, we're going to stay in the same place that we've been in.
And that's good for a time, but we get stagnant, and we don't grow.
So what happens if we're in that stagnant place?
Where once upon a time, as it were, when we were growing, and then we just stay there and don't grow further?
Well, we're like a plant growing in a pot, all root bound, once upon a time that was good, we had good roots, growing down, but then we run out of space, that's when it's time for the plant to be transplanted, into something fresh, and new soil for it to grow.
Just like us, we need to use our talents not just in one way, and say ''that's it Lord, that's all I'm good at.'' but saying and looking for other ways to, we're not just creative in one way, but we're creative in other ways as well.
You see, plants have a tap root, this is the main root that is stronger than all the other roots, and off that Tap root, they have other small roots, multiplying out and feeding on the soil, to make the plant bigger.
Think of the tap root is God, and we're the other roots attached to that root, if we get damaged, we still have the tap root, to give us the substance we need, if we cut off that tap root, and not be connected to God, then we're going to be struggling, and then our growth will suffer.
If you're in that space, and you don't know how to get connective to the tap root, make small changes, to get into God, go and find a good church, spread your ''roots'' everywhere, in Christ, then you will get growing again.
Well my friends, I better let you go.
It's been really a pleasure having this time with you today.
Take care

Take care

Life on delay
Hi there,
Well after yesterdays sweltering hot lovely day, I got home and made some mocha sorbet.
So I hope that we get another day, like yesterday for me to enjoy it.
I had to laugh to myself this morning.
I was joking with my friend at MacDonald's mc cafe ( their maple walnut muffins are really nice, along with their Carmel coffees, thanks to Nestle I'm so adicticted to their flavored coffee)
I joked about how we live, like using washing machines, ( disclaimer now, I do wash my clothes, and I do hang out the washing every day, I iron my dad's shirts every weekend.)
And a good bacon buttie, sadly Dad's still waiting for his long promised buttie.
Today I wanted to talk to you about, being delayed.
Now it might be for that meeting, that you got held up.
Perhaps you're without a car, so you can't go anywhere.
Well today I laughed to myself, because I put all my washing in the machine, and i pushed start, not knowing that Mum put it on delay.
It went beep beep beep, I thought it was a new thing, but then I looked at the washing was on delay for an hour.
My friend Emma flats, I was a sub flat mate for a week, and I really loved it, I did washing, in fact, I can't make it out, why people do separate washing, I was like an old washing lady, knocking on all the doors asking for washing, I caught one person on the phone, and I heard, "Wow that's a good girl friend you have there.)
So yes, I do love washing.
But sometimes it does feel like we're living our lives on delay.
And if that's you, and if you're just waiting for something to come your way, keep hoping, keep searching, because good things come to those who persist God.
But sometimes we can just leave it alone, for a while, and we struggle to get back into things.
Because we lack the inspiration, and we can't always cheer people on, if they aren't willing to do somethings themselves.
So what does it say, about living in God?
What does he want you to do?
And how do you know it's from God?
If we think and go back to the bible, what does it say there?
Well many things, but today I want to talk to you about Job, because if he listened to his friends, and not be as strong in his faith, in God, he would be a nervous wreck, he had so many trials, he was a man who helped the people, in society, that needed it, he was a leader in his own town, he helped people and went out of his way. And we're called to do that too.
He carried on with his life, and then God spoke to him on a violent storm, God really tested him, he really put him under fire, if anyone see's God, they feel like they are dead.
That is how powerful God is.
Job was committed to see God in everything, he didn't listen to his friends, which by the way, only did 1 good thing, at the start, they sat with him for 3 days, that was it, the rest wasn't so good.
So we have to be careful on who we listen, and what we agree with, and not to be weak on important issues, and not let people brain wash us into things that are wrong.
This especially happens if someone like our boss is away, and people have tall poppy syndrome.
It best to not listen to it, and do the task at hand.
Wisdom is far above any riches in the world, no one can pay you to have it.
So get wise advice, and if you're feeling tired, get someone who understands, and help you steer you in the right direction, if you are feeling a bit wary, and you're not going to groups, or going to church because it feels like no one cares, go and take a walk with someone and talk about it, because there will be signs there that God wants to help you.
Don't take on the thing that I had been doing, don't take on more, or come up with ideas, to prove to God that you're there, when sometimes it feels like God has walked past you.
Don't take on more church things, because you have to prove yourself to God.
God didn't have to prove himself to anyone, and all of us are worthy of God's love.
Now love now days is displayed in a very open manor, it's fleeting love, it's in our songs, and we even sing about love in songs, or songs about love in other different ways.
We are starving ourselves to get famous.
God hasn't put the pause button on your lie.
He's not like a tape player, when he thinks he should answer prayer, he hits pause.
Jesus died for our sins, he died for all the imperfections, all the flaws to make you flawless, and it's a journey.
When we are on the edge of our seats saying it's too late, God says never.
God wants you to enjoy good things, and i know that's hard, it's hard to accept, when you're going through pain, it's hard to see that, when you have secretes, that no one knows about, it's hard when sometimes you're life feels like it is on delay.
I was on delay, when I younger, I had a server brain bleed, when I was younger, and part of my brain wad damaged, and sometimes it does feel a bit to late, and it is, my brain can't be made new, I'm not writing this for sympathy, but sometimes it's not too late.
God takes our humanness and turns into something that you can't even think possible.
That's what God is so good at it, rethink about your life, if you think it's too late, to get going again, make a choice today, to smile, to say today is a good day.
Today I have another go, no matter what others may say.
Today I have a day before that is filled with good things, even though it feels like it's pouring down with rain.
Today is a day that God has made, and I may be on delay, but I will rise with the life of God in me everyday, and he'll give me the strength to do the things I need to do today, the rest is up to him.

Anywhere is
Hello there,
How's things?
I hope things are going well for you.
Today, I want to talk to you about your journey.
No matter what you're doing, or how your feeling, we are all on a journey.
No matter if you're crying through the night, wondering where God is now, or perhaps you're praying in your ''War room'' for a break through.
Perhaps you're wondering where ''Anywhere is''.
I took this idea from Enya's song, ''Anywhere is''.
And I have had a look at the song and it's quite interesting as she sings about being on a journey, if you're a stay at home mother, wondering if you make a difference, or the office worker, a lawyer, or a police officer, renforcing the law, or the parking meter man writing out a ticket.
Or maybe you have a battle with cancer, or if you've lost a child, if you're aching because you're lonely.
Love has found a way my friend, you don't need to fight anymore, you don't have to keep being strong.
Or maybe you're starting off in your journey or perhaps you're near the end.
If you are dry and weary, when there's nothing left in your reserve energy tank, if people see you struggling, let them help you.
Even if you're the strongest person, that you know, we all need to help others, even if it's just doing the house work, or making the meal for the friend who is finding it hard to take kindness.
We all loose our way, and it's ok to have not a reason to say how you are, or why you haven't gone to church for a while, it's ok, just to have a break from things once and while, Jesus did, Elisha did, even the best music bands in the world do, some even change lead singers for a while.
Being ''Anywhere is.'' is ok.
You don't have to be super women, man, or Miss or Mr Marvellous all the time.
You don't always be kind to people all the time if they need to hear a hard word, of course be kind to them, but sometimes if you go and rescue the person all the time, worrying how they are, and all of that, and if all they have is, you, well who do you have when things get hard?
We start off the day with breakfast, and if you skip breakfast, you know what it does to you, if you don't have breakfast, you lack concentration, you tire more easily, and if you don't take a break, you are at risk of fatigue, and a risk to your workers.
Same goes with your realationships, be careful how you pick your friends, and who you like and don't like, and be honest with them.
So many young people are dying in the hands of people who been in dangerous relationships, and it's time to stand up and say enough is enough.
But how do we go and do that?
Do you have to be ''called'' like going into the mission field?
What do you do if, some tells you things that are secret and just don't seem right?
Firstly, if you think someone is in a harmful sitiation, don't keep secrets, tell some pastor at your church, don't tell everyone, or tell your mentor what's happening, and see what they would do.
If it's bad report to the police, because they can help the person, that's what they are there for.
Be careful about the ''laying of on hands'' when you pray, when you have a special need, and sometimes it's better to be slient and pray quietly.
God already know's their story and he is already working in their lives.
So lets just pull it in a bit and discover what or where ''Anywhere is''
If you don't know, perhaps church is just a tired place, or perhaps for some unknown reason you don't go along much, and you don't know why, it's ok.
But don't stay there too long, talk about it, and see where God is leading you.
God's plan for you isn't a one size fits all, plan, he designs it for you, and he works in your best interests.
God isn't mad at you he's not like your past relationships, or your family, sometimes we go around with condemnation, and such a worry on our shoulders that God doesn't want you to carry.
Lets break off our chains that bind us, lets see what God has in store for us, and lets live as Christians that we are supposed to be living.

A new start
Hi there,
I hope all is going well with you.
Today what ever you're going through, you have a new start.
A lot of our lives, we think that we don't get a new start in life.
That sadly we believe the lies that we tell ourselves, that we can't start over again.
But we do, every single day we get a chance to start over.
We only have one life, so what are we going to do with?
Take a piece of paper and write, yes physically write what you want to do, where do you want to go, in small steps.
Proverbs, says without vision the people die, so what's your vision?
Perhaps, there's sometime in you, that's been in there for a while, and now it's time to make the steps forward. Jesus tells us the famous parable, of the Tallent.
Now why did the man hide it, and bury it?
Well it's because he thought that his master was a hard man, and he knew it, he also knew the task to use his talent, some say it's money other people think it's a gift, how you see it is up to you.
But he didn't use it, he hid it, and was lazy with it.
What does that mean for us, with this a new start?
Well if you get told it can't be done, over and over, it's time to get some new people around you.
It's time for you to say and to stand up strong and say, ''I can do it, I can do everything that Christ gives me strength.'' now it's not going in your own strength, it's saying ''God you have power to give me strength with the things I've gone through, and are going through.''
I think it's often a miss understood verse, we encourage people, with it, and that;s good, but in context.
Sometimes we need to be slient and wait on God, we get so much power and strength by seeing what God wants, when we draw strength from God, we can go out and change our circumstances.
We hand it out to go, and we say, "Lord I place everything that I hoped, and planed for, into your hands, all the disappointments, and things that I have planned for myself, now I place them in your hands, and I know i have been playing it safe, I am sorry for the things I've said, the things that hurt, the things that I've said, that have hurt have others, when being nice doesn't smooth it over, -Amen.''
When we pray that prayer, my friends, it's opening up to a new start.
Like the water logged ground, in our garden, out of no where, bulbs and other plants shoot up, and flower, from what looks like a hopeless, situation to you, it's hopeless to God.
God isn't mad at you.
Well my friends, what ever you are, be a good one.
