Caring for the little things

Hi there.
How's things?
Sometimes, it feels like I'm blogging about the same things ,over and over again.
And perhaps I am.
However,  I'm not going to apologise.
If you're feeling like you can't be loved, or that you feel so overwhelmed by things, that you woke up this morning wide eyed wondering how you're going to get through today, you will.
Sometimes it feels like you've got wave after wave of cold shock, perhaps you don't understand, perhaps you're having a hard time believing in things, even believing in God.
You might have heard the saying, ''God is all you need.'' and that's true, but how can we understand when there's so much around us?
You and I are different, perhaps that you work, and sometimes you have people who for some reason can't work.
Sometimes we have friends, and sometimes we loose friends, sometimes our friends take advantage of us, and sometimes we can't get the help we need.
There's always those things.
When I woke up yesterday I felt slightly overwhelmed, I had to try my best, and sort of failed, but I did try, the thing of it was, that, my car was unregistered, and I got a $200 fine, then I had to drop my best furry friend, into the vet, to get a mouth operation done, and then I had to go back, and sort out my car.
Only to be in contact with a bank person, who didn't really help that much, you know how you get these people, and you just seize up, before you get the help you need?
Well this person was just like that, you could see that she was going to make it quite differ cult for me to understand, it was just a simple mistake, but she was so rude that it was made out to be this big thing.
I went home gathered my thoughts and tried again, only to have success this time.
I paid the back log and all got sorted out, and the DCC is looking into the case of the traffic ticket, and my cat came through  his operation and is resting up on his day bed on the sofa, with his head on a cushion, and a red mohair rug over him to keep him warm,  positively  human like.

So God came through for me, and once again, what seemed like an overwhelming day, wasn't.
In fact it ended on a good note, and all got sorted out.
It's in those moments, when you hand those things over to God, you actually see him.
He knew that I had my car rego expired, he knew that things were going to be OK, for my cat at the vet, he knew that there is a good chance of me coming off that fine, and he also knows that I need money, so I got called up to work in the weekend.
It's in those ''what if'' situations that you actually see God for what he is,  what he's doing in your life, and if those things seem like mountains, and that you've got to climb them, he'll be there right behind you, in front of you, digging foot holes for you to climb them.
What I've learnt is,  God never leaves us to defend for ourselves, when he tells us to do something, he doesn't to it and walks away, and leave us for our own devices.
Yesterday I put myself to the test with my car, I wanted to see if i could pay the back log and get it sorted out, and I did, then my parents fixed up the fiddly bits, like renewing it, so I had to pay for the rego, then I had to pay for renewing it.
I've also though about it, if we're not prepared to step out, and trust God, we're going to stay in the same place that we've been in.
And that's good for a time, but we get stagnant, and we don't grow.
So what happens if we're in that stagnant place?
Where once upon a time, as it were, when we were growing, and then we just stay there and don't grow further?
Well, we're like a plant growing in a pot, all root bound, once upon a time that was good, we had good roots, growing down, but then we run out of space, that's when it's time for the plant to be transplanted, into something fresh, and new soil for it to grow.
Just like us, we need to use our talents not just in one way, and say ''that's it Lord, that's all I'm good at.'' but saying and looking for other ways to, we're not just creative in one way, but we're creative in other ways as well.
You see, plants have a tap root, this is the main root that is stronger than all the other roots, and off that Tap root, they have other small roots, multiplying  out and feeding on the soil, to make the plant bigger.
Think of the tap root is God, and we're the other roots attached to that root, if we get damaged, we still have the tap root, to give us the substance we need, if we cut off that tap root, and not be connected to God, then we're going to be struggling, and then our growth will suffer.
If you're in that space, and you don't know how to get connective to the tap root, make small changes, to get into God, go and find a good church, spread your ''roots'' everywhere, in Christ, then you will get growing again.
Well my friends, I better let you go.
It's been really a pleasure having this time with you today.
Take care
Chloe
