Psalm 144

Hi there,

How's it going?
Well I do hope with you.
A bit of murky gray day here. no sunlight, so we've all got the curtains closed, and it feels like we're all at Scot base down in Antarctica.

I've been experimenting with sour dough bread, my first one was a fail, but I've found a good method on how to do sour dough now.

It is really good fun, feeding your starter, so it grows, then put that into your bread dough.

I was thinking about how I can link this back into, my bible study. I might be wondering a bit today.

With sour dough you have to look after it, if you don't the starter dies. and you know when it doesn't look right, and that is when you have to start again.

The starter, captures all the wild yeast that is around, thats why I love it.

It does take a bit of time, to leave it to rise, before you bake it, you do have to do a bit of planning around where you want to bake your bread.

So that is my morning of sour dough, and the fun that it is making, bread.

I have to admit to, that this morning I just wanted to do a bible study on the Psalms, I will go into other books of the bible.

BUt today I want to talk about, praising the Lord, in times that we need to praise him.

Why do we praise God?

Is it because we know how good he is?
Is it because we want more of him in our lives?

Is it because, he knows the answer to everything?

Pretty Sunday school answers here, but you get the point, I hope.

Why do we go to church?
Is it out of great ful heart?

Is it because we've always gone, so therefore we should keep going to the same one?

Is it because Jesus has brought us through some things, in life that are hard, and still wants us to live our lives well?

David says at the top of this Psalm, he starts to praising the Lord, so much so he thanks God who trains his hands for war.
Back then Israel and still is a very volatile state.
First thing we should do, is praising God for the work that we do, and if you're like me that works seasonly it's hard, because you need money some coming in, but you are also  listening to your body, and what it should be saying.

So first thing is, thanking Jesus for the work he has enabled you to do, even if you like it or not, or you see no change, keep praising him. Keep praising God, that will strengthen your spirit, to become resilient against the enemy, and resilient about what's going on.

Jesus always has our backs, you might not think so, you might be a  valley of dry bones now, but he always has your back, he won't let you down, walk away, close the door turn the light off. He won't ever let you go.
The thing is, through we let go of him.

However he is so willing for us to come back to him, that he makes everything right.

Jesus delivers us, out of things we can't possibly humanly face.

How you might ask?
How you don't know?
Well that's right I don;t nor do I need to know.
But, when I was weak in hospital, I was phsycailly carried on Jesus shoulders.
and the 2 angels came and proteched me, on the 1st night I was there.
All I was saying was ''Jesus carry me.'' and he did.
he picked me up and said to just relax into his shoulders, and he carried me, when I didn't have the strength.

Verse 4 of Psalm 144, says, Man is like a breath, his days are like a fleeting shadow.
That is why we need to make every single day count, and be careful about how we use our time.

You can read in your bible, the progress we started off with, at the start at the psalm, to the middle, of the Psalm.

Then changing, tact, a bit about how awesome our Lord is.

And he does it just for us.

Then it goes into deliverance, and rescue, and reassurance, and safety.

Finishing off, with blessed are the people who God is the Lord.

We are always blessed.

Blessed in a warm dry house, with good parents,  with medication to make people well again.
coffee to start our day, water that comes out of our pipes.
90 percent chocolate chip biscuits, at the bakery.
The relationships that we do, have are special, because they shape us to what we become. with our family, with your brothers, sisters, everyone. They hone us, to become arrows shooting forward, because arrows always go foward never backwards.

We are blessed because we know where we're going, and what our plan is for our lives.

That concludes my little study about Psalm, 144
